Into the New, Guidance by Your Pets

What does it look like when an animal friend is attempting to get us out of our proverbial comfort zone?

Often it can be the subtle shifts in their mannerisms, styles of play, or even where they want to go on a walk. If you are a person who walks out your front door to take your pup friend on a walk and once outside you inquire which way, you may quickly discover that they like exploring their territory or neighborhood from many different directions and or even new ones.

Not only is this good for them, but it is for us. By doing new activities, taking new paths, or tasting different foods, we are creating new neural pathways for them and for us. This can be as simple as sitting in a different seat at the dining table as it offers a different perspective. It can be going out the door and walking in the reverse route to pick up your mail, or yes playing with your pets in a new way, seated in a new chair or being in a different room.

All of these shifts up the energy and keep the brain guessing which if you are working to heal some aspect of your body or mind, may be just the ticket to getting you on the path to a solution. I have shared before that our animal friends are teaching all the time and one of the many ways is knowing what experiences challenge us and which ones will help direct us to move through that wall or block in our way of seeing, thinking, or feeling about something.

One pup friend over this past weekend was doing his best to guide me to the other side of such a block, by wanting to go outside the confounds of the neighborhood. In his communication, by doing so we are choosing to move beyond the wall quite literally, yet also from the big picture of what is keeping us stuck.

He wanted to go a step further by crossing a main road which for me butted up against a business boundary as many clients want to keep their dog friends within their known subdivisions or away from busy roads – and it also struck a chord for me personally. From a guidance perspective, I understood his intent and verbally acknowledged the action while explaining why we were turning around.

The bigger or higher picture is this also can represent stepping beyond my typical business territory to go to a new-to-me subdivision across a main road which is exactly what was coming in the form of a new client a day after this walk. And yes, the home is just off a main, busy road on the other side of where I have gone before. In another experience, it was a dog’s pauses at key places and landmarks along the route as each represented a piece of the overall message that was being relayed along with an even greater one.

Many of the animals I have connected with are in sync with the energy around you, themselves, and anyone else. I see this as an amazing superpower! When you need a bit of assistance to get beyond what is holding you back in some area of your life, reach out to your animal family and observe what they come up with for you to do – big picture!
